We are always sorting through the most recent research studies to bring parents the latest information on parenting. Sometimes, the results are ground breaking, other times, they are just throwing money at the obvious. Drinking while pregnant simply isn’t a good thing.
A study published in the Archives of General Psychiatry journal, conducted by Dr Brian D’Onofrio, of Indiana University found that mothers who drank during one pregnancy but not in a subsequent one, the child exposed to the alcohol in the womb displayed worse behavior, suggesting that the problems were probably caused by the drinking rather than genetics or bad parenting.
So, what’s the lesson here? It’s just one more reason not to drink while pregnant. Of course, most readers of this blog, are already parents - parents who perhaps even drank while pregnant. Don’t worry, we don’t judge you. We are always here to help.
If you have a child behaving badly - you may find the answers in one of our Better Parenting University online seminars.

1Good article. i am not a drinker, so I did not drink in any of my pregnancies.
However obstetricians should also be educating their patients on things like this.
